Why you should be using salon shampoo and conditioner

Why should you use salon brand shampoo and conditioner A question I run into more often then not, is why clients should be using salon brand shampoo and conditioner. The first thing that comes to mind is a cancer causing chemical. The compound, a chemically modified form of coconut oil—cocamide diethanolamine (cocamide DEA)—is used as a foaming agent or thickener in soaps, shampoos, and conditioners. This chemical is listed in more then 98 beauty products on the market today.

Secondly, is protecting your investment. You more then likely spent over $100 to have that sexy new color, hi light, low light, or block coloring done. So why, why, why, would you use something that’s going to strip that color off your hair and down the drain? Sodium lauryl sulfate, amongst other sulfates, is a surfactant, emulsifier, and detergent. It’s most common uses are engine degreasers, floor cleaners and car wash soaps. You can imagine why it causes skin and eye irritation, organ toxicity, and is also a candidate in causing cancer. Next on the list is amine, or – ammonium chloride – the hellish child is birthed from hydrochloric acid and ammonia!

This is used as a fertilizer, but more importantly, in priming metals for tinning and galvanizing. These are only just a few of the ingredients in the majority of beauty products from shampoo and conditioner, to makeup. I’ll follow up with another list of gruesome ingredients you should be on the watch for.
